Welcome to the Davies Group
Researching catalysis tools for efficient molecular synthesis. Developing new ligand motifs and transformations with a focus on modular and complexity building methods. Our novel structures are used to advance areas such as drug discovery and organic electronics. Housed in start-of-the-art labs in the new Molecular Sciences Building at the University of Birmingham. Read more about us and our research in these pages.
Catalyst Development

We design new multifunctional, switchable and adaptable NHC and P-motifs for application as ligands for catalysts and functional motifs.
Reaction Discovery

The discovery, study and development of transition metal-catalysed transformations as powerful tools for molecular synthesis is central to our research.
Functional molecules

Our new methods and the novel molecules arising from our studies lead to novel molecular properties that are desirable to fields such as early stage drug discovery.
